Nakiri Chopper, Dark Ironwood Handle

$196.00
sold out

Classic Chopping knife, with an angled face and a lightly contoured handle.

It is made from domestically produced 1095 high carbon steel. I left some of the carbon scaling on the blade after the heat treating process was complete. The bevels are evenly ground along the top third of the blade to add strength for tougher kitchen tasks.

This is an especially dense kind of ironwood, the exact species of which is unknown. I recovered it from a pile of kindling that was about 16 years old and forgotten about after my dad left his job a custom molding shop. He said the had to change materials for the custom order and threw out a lot of it because it was either dulling the knives or chipping badly during manufacturing.

Measurments:

12-3/8’’ overall

7-1/4’’ blade length

2’’ blade depth

~60 HRC
