Camp Cook's Fighting Knife
This one’s for the Camp Cook with a nod towards general use. The concept is to have one knife for camping and backpacking that is useful for what most folks actually use their knives for in the woods: making food. I combined the blade thickness and edge geometry of a chefs knife with a deepened bowie knife design.
It’s a long, slim blade (5/64’’ thickness) with a deep belly I forged from an old cross-cut saw I found in Skagit County. The Micarta grips are designed to fill the palm but minimize the total weight of the knife. It sports a lanyard hole for those that go in on such accessories.
The Kydex handle sheath is made from US produced Kydex and has an included belt loop. The knife fits very securely in the sheath. The sheath is held together with brass an copper rivets, which honestly turned out a little wonky. As such, the price has been reduced accordingly.
